Private Honey Harvest Experience
Please select how many people will be attending and write sizing of suits in the notes.
EVERYONE - the WHOLE FAMILY will have the opportunity to experience being a beekeeper! π
Fully suited in protective beekeeping suits and gloves, participants will learn who lives in the hives and enjoy watching the bees going about their work. Each participant will have the opportunity to hold a frame and inspect the bees. They will help harvest honey/honeycomb safely from the hive.
Following their busy work, participants will get to touch and taste honeycomb and fresh honey from our Windy Acres Farm bees.
DETAILS:
This activity is run by Alicia Vohland, Early Childhood teacher (with current Blue Card), Apiarist and Owner of Windy Acres.
All suits and gloves are provided and required to be worn as we will be handling live bees. Please note itβs better to go up a size with our suits.
A digital photograph of each participant with the bees will be emailed to the nominated email address at the conclusion of the session.
Spectators are invited to watch from the safety of our covered area.
